Waimea Canyon

On Wednesday we drove up to Waimea Canyon.  It was a 45 minute drive and when we got there we realized we had left the camera back at the house.  Luckily, there was a nice family that offered to take our picture and email it to us.  Here it is!  When we get home, I will upload the pictures from our camera.  Waimea Canyon is the Grand Canyon of Kauai!  Beautiful when you can see it.  Unfortunantely, there was so much fog, we couldn’t see a thing.  :(

No, I didn't spell Earnware wrong. Ben says "I'm going to Earmware to work with Daddy!" When I ask him what Daddy does, he says "Daddy's a hockey player!" Not quite, but its funny that he thinks that!  We wish Daddy was a hockey player, then Mommy wouldn’t have to work!

For the 4th of July we went camping with a few friends. It was at 9300 ft (very high elevation.) There was a large creek running through the campground and beautiful mountain views from every angle. The weather was 70's during the day, but cold at night. We hiked to lakes and sat around getting dirty. Ben loved it, especially hiking with Daddy's hiking poles. He felt like such a big boy hiking with the adults. Most of the hikes he was in the backpack, but for a good 1/2 mile of our 4 mile hike, he walked, sometimes faster than a few of the adults!
